REPUBLIC HORIZON'S MEETING MINUTES

Republic Horizon’s Meeting Minutes
March 13, 2008

Attendance: Krisan Lehew, Debra Kollock, Deborah Drennan, Sikander Jaad, Kate Rowe-Maloret.

Debra Kollock facilitated the meeting and gave good information about the process.

June 30th is the end of the grant cycle. On July 1st our project will have $10,000 to spend on project. Steven’s county will hold our monies for now and we can access this money with a request for funds.

There was discussion about a “Community Foundation” there was a meeting in Colville on the 19th to talk about the possibility of a “Community Foundation” or “Community Chest”. Also the possibility of a “Regional Foundation”.

There was talk about creating our own Non-profit, at first the program did not want the communities using the funds to create our own 501c (3).

We are in NEED of a Steering Committee that will help make decisions about how to spend the $4,000.00 for trainings.

We are creating a flyer to sent out to all possible community members who we feel really need to be at the table to help make the decisions about what training Republic would benefit from.

The most important thing at this time is to create a “Board” or “Steering Committee” to help make the decisions about the trainings and the direction we need to move forward.
