WSU COLVILLE RESERVATION FERRY COUNTY EXTENSION HOSTING BIO-ENERGY WORKSHOP

On Thursday, April 10, 2008, from 10:00 AM to 3 PM, WSU Ferry County Extension will host a regional Bio-energy workshop at the Nespelem Community Center. There will be industry-leading speakers from across the Northwest who will provide the latest information on bio-fuel and bio-energy efforts from researchers and industry experts. With rising fuel and energy costs, communities are going to be looking for solutions to their energy needs; eastern Washington can play a pivotal role in the state’s liquid fuel alternatives.

Participants will be updated on the potential for creating energy alternatives in the Colville Reservation Region and on the national, statewide, and local region situations and possibilities. Workshops will include: State of the Nation on Biofuels, Local Energy Projects on the Horizon, Canola Production Techniques, Canola Disease Control Methods, Crop Residues as Energy Sources, Forest Fuels and Forest Energy Resources.

Lunch will be provided for those who register before April 5; there is no charge for this event. Please call WSU Colville Reservation-Ferry County Extension 509-634-2304 to register or for more information.
