December Update

Well December is here already, and Republic has the loads of holiday events scheduled. Unfortunately, I still haven't had the opportunity to gather all the information concerning those events and post it on the Chamber of Commerce calendar. I highly recommend checking the calendars at the Ferry county View and ferrycounty.com for a list of area events. Meanwhile, anyone who has information about an event, please submit the details to the Chamber by using our contact page. Eventually I will be able to fill out the calendar with all the happenings in the Republic area.
The final Chamber meeting of 2011 is coming up next week, Thursday the 15th, at noon at The Tamarack. If you are a member, I encourage you to attend and take part. We want all the participation and input that we can get, in order to better serve Republic and its businesses. If you are not yet a member, please consider visiting the meeting, and joining the Chamber. The start of the year is the perfect time to step up and get involved. If interested, contact us through our contact page, or talk to Jeff at The Tamarack (or anyone else who is active in Chamber business).
You might have seen the "Hometown Holiday" displays at local businesses. You can shop in town for great merchandise, support the local economy, and enter at the participating merchants for multiple chances to win. What's not to like? Be sure to get behind this program and make it better than ever this year.
Finally, I'd like to congratulate Jeff Agent and Julie Burnett for their victories in the recent Chamber election. Jeff will continue the work he started when he was appointed interim Vice-President, now with a full term ahead. He oversees Chamber membership, and will be active in our upcoming drive to enlist more members. If you are involved in business in Republic, expect to hear from Jeff or his assistants soon! Julie will take over the Secretary position in January, which will provide opportunity for her to use some of the skills she put to such good use working for TEDD. Thanks are due to Arleen Tolliver for all her efforts as Secretary through her term. We appreciate what she did and trust that she will still remain active with the Chamber as her hectic schedule allows.
Look for more updates soon, and thanks for reading.
Jim
